Ndidi Breathwork™
Rooted in Nigerian Wisdom. Built for the student mental health crisis.
African-centered breathwork for high schools and colleges, for the students carrying anxiety, stress, and pressure, and the staff holding space for them.
What Is Ndidi Breathwork™
Ndidi (n-DEE-dee) Breathwork™ is African-centered, not a borrowed wellness trend. The sessions are guided by breath, sound, and movement with live African instruments and music.
Each session releases stored stress and clears mental fog, so your students and staff bring more energy, clarity, and focus to their day.
Ndidi means steadfastness in Igbo, the patient endurance to keep returning to your body, breath by breath, until what has been stored there finally moves and you feel alive again.
Ndidi Breathwork™ is built around three pillars, which can surface once the body lets go of what it has been holding:
Harmony, rest, inner peace
Inner power, vitality, agency
Delight, laughter, aliveness
I am free. I am alive. Energy flows through me.
Why Your Campus Needs This
This generation is running on empty, in the classroom and the lecture hall alike.
young people ages 12 to 25 report serious thoughts of suicide in the past year.
The Jed Foundation, 2025 1high schoolers, and 1 in 3 college students, report significant, ongoing struggles with their mental health.
CDC Youth Risk Behavior Survey, 2023 2; Healthy Minds Study, 2024–25 3of K-12 teachers report frequent job-related stress, nearly double the rate of other working adults.
RAND, State of the American Teacher, 2026 4of college student affairs staff say that stress and crisis-response load is pushing them toward burnout.
Inside Higher Ed / NASPA, 2022 5Your students are struggling, and the people showing up for them every day are burning out right alongside them. Ndidi Breathwork™ gives both groups a real, embodied tool for discharging what they're carrying, not another assembly or training they'll forget by lunch.
Meet Your Guide
Nnemoma Chukwumerije, LMSW — African-Centered Breathwork Guide & Life CoachNnemoma holds her LMSW from Columbia University and brings 8+ years of youth development experience, including three years in school-based suicide prevention with the JED Foundation.
She's also a Nigerian medicine woman and life coach, using breath, sound, and movement, rooted in her Nigerian ancestry, to help people release what's blocking them and access the clarity, energy, and vitality to pursue their goals.
Her path here started in a cubicle, not a wellness space. As the first-born daughter of Nigerian immigrants, she did everything "right," straight As, a stable career in nonprofit, and still found herself depressed, living a zombie-like existence. Breathwork changed that. What began as a personal practice became a calling, and now she brings this healing work to schools and college campuses nationwide, for the students carrying more than they should, and the staff holding space for them.
Made For Your People
For Students
A whole-group experience that works as a single assembly or as a recurring practice built into advisory periods, orientation, or a wellness rotation. Students practice real-time nervous-system regulation and stress relief tools they can use again and again, and experience a real sense of belonging and community. It also serves as a non-clinical entry point for students who won't walk into a counselor's office but will sit in a circle.
For Staff
Burnout relief and a sustainable nervous system regulation practice for the adults absorbing everyone else's stress all day. A genuine reset during PD days, and a tool advisors and counselors can point students toward themselves. This is a morale and retention investment, not one more mandatory training.
What A Session Looks Like
Every session is adapted in real time to the room, the group, and the moment, whether we're together in person or connecting virtually.
Breathwork
The foundation: guided breathing patterns that shift the nervous system out of fight-or-flight and into a state where real stress release becomes possible.
Sound
Live instruments and music woven with the breath to deepen the experience and help the body release what words can't reach.
Movement
Gentle physical practice, stretching, swaying, simple postures, that brings students and staff back into their bodies before and after the deeper breathwork.
Community
Practiced in circle, not isolation. Participants breathe, move, and witness each other, often where the real shift happens.
Reflection
A closing sharing prompt that turns what surfaced in the body into language, clarity, and an intention to carry forward.
Testimonials
"I really enjoyed yesterday's session. Within 30 minutes, the tension had drained completely from my shoulders and my whole body felt more at ease. I'm walking away ready to use breathwork more intentionally. Thank you so much."
"I had the opportunity to bring Nnemoma in for a session with our staff, and it was absolutely transformational to watch. Her energy is so light, grounding, and a genuine breath of fresh air for our team. I highly recommend bringing her into your program."
"Thank you again for an amazing session. It was much needed, and that was one of the best workshops I've been to. I will continue to incorporate the breathwork techniques you graced us with into my daily practice! Blessings and abundance to you, Nnemoma."
"This was my first time doing a breathwork session, and it definitely won't be my last. She explained everything before we started, so I knew it was normal to feel whatever came up. By the end I felt so much lighter, like I let go of stuff I didn't even know I was holding onto. Thank you for that."

FAQ
Is it safe for anxious or trauma-affected students?
Yes — sessions are trauma-informed and paced by the group, and participation in any part is always optional.
What equipment or space do we need?
A room where people can sit comfortably, chairs or floor, ideally in a circle. Depending on group size, audio support may be required for music.
What budget does this fit under?
This work fits directly into budgets many schools and colleges already have: Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) initiatives and MTSS/tiered support frameworks in K-12, and student wellness, belonging, and retention initiatives in higher ed. If your institution already funds mental health programming, professional development, or student life initiatives, Ndidi Breathwork™ fits into that line, not a new category to justify.
How do you handle parent/guardian consent for minors?
Nnemoma works with your team to communicate session content to parents and guardians in advance and to honor any opt-outs. Nothing is mandatory, every practice is offered as an invitation.
Is this religious?
No. It's rooted in Nigerian cultural tradition, not tied to any religious practice or belief system, and welcoming to people of all backgrounds.
